Welcome!

This blog has been created for Eric Carlson on March 23, 2009.

Eric, I hope you inspire a few people to write and contribute to the conversation--whether it is about hunting, fishing, kids, carpentry or even cancer--the dreaded "C" word people don't typically like to talk about.

We are all here for you ...

  3. Dear Eric & family,
My prayers go out daily for people/families/friends hit with cancer. You are now an honorary member of my daily prayers. May God use this disease to build your faith & draw you closer to Himself.

I, myself, am a survivor of cancer. During my treatments, I was offered the time to "be still" and know... I had an abundance of time where I could do nothing but have conversations with God - through prayers, reading His Word and long thought trains reflecting on just about everything. I pray that you discover this time for yourself.

Surviving breast cancer has been a trip ~ a wild ride, if you will. One thing that was solidified in my mind was that God will either deliver us FROM evil, THROUGH evil or BY evil... It will either never touch you, you'll survive it, or you'll be lead to heaven. In any circumstance, the best place you'll ever be is in His arms ~ under His watchful eye.

I thank the Lord many times a day for the breath in my lungs ~ but completely yield to His will knowing that even my breath is His.

God's peace spread wide across your family,
    Lisa (Claus) Perry

  4. Eric,
This is Lisa Kokko's older sister. I remember you guys hanging out and being best buds in the Lutheran North days. I am so sorry to hear of your illness. Keep God close, He will comfort and heal. You have beautiful kids, love the picture! You are in my continued prayers as well as our church's (Peace) prayers at each and every service. Enjoy your Easter and may God's power be with you!
